Session #1: Black Leadership in the New Economy
9AM – 10:30AM
As we recover from COVID and a disrupted economy, this session explores the hidden responsibilities of Black leaders and the shifting needs of our community.
Underrepresentation is bad enough. But even worse, according to extensive research, is the lived experience of Black employees in the U.S. workplace. Recognition for Black professionals in the workplace is hard earned. Black employees have to manage their careers more strategically than their white peers and to prove greater competence before winning promotions. Performance is not the only success metric; how they are perceived plays a huge role. So, how does one navigates spaces of power and ensure positive change within their work lives and communities? Join Black leaders as they offer inspiration, advice and discuss best practices.
The Simple X Summit concludes with a great opportunity to network with black professionals and a virtual job fair to connect job seekers and employers by providing a virtual platform where attendees can connect with recruiters and companies that are looking for talents.
We ask that you join the career fair first prior to joining any virtual rooms. The general career fair will be open until 2pm for those who wish to stick around after 1:30pm to network with others. Simple X Summit will close at 2PM.
